Privacy Policy

Privacy is not a feature of vent — it is the product. This policy is short because we keep almost nothing.

What we collect

Your first name, your birth date (to verify you are 18 or older), and the email address from your Apple or Google sign-in. The topic you submit for matching is processed transiently to find your match and screened by an automated safety filter; waiting-queue entries expire within minutes.

What we cannot read

Chats are end-to-end encrypted on your device. Our servers relay and briefly store only ciphertext — we cannot read your messages, and we never hold the keys. Calls are transmitted over encrypted media channels. We keep no history you or we can browse.

What gets deleted

When a conversation ends — by either person, or after an hour without a back-and-forth — its encrypted record is deleted from our servers shortly after. If a conversation is reported, the report (including any transcript the reporter chooses to share from their own device) is retained only until a human reviews it, then deleted.

What we never do

No ads. No trackers. No analytics profiles. No cookies beyond what is strictly necessary. No selling, renting, or sharing of data with anyone. There is nothing to sell because we keep nothing worth selling.

Safety processing

Topic submissions and post-conversation feedback are screened by automated systems to enforce our rules (no sexual content, no personal information, no abuse). Rule violations create strike records tied to your account. Feedback left about you is synthesized monthly into an anonymous growth list.

Your rights

Delete your account any time in the app — it erases your profile, strikes, and feedback immediately. Appeals and privacy questions: appeals@vent.talk.
